Coal Township-Larry George Hummel, 78, of 2237 Stetler Drive, passed away Saturday, December 4, 2021 in his home, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Shamokin on April 5, 1943 to the late Eugene Hummel and Mary (Lewis) Hummel. He retired from the Northumberland County Vo-Tech School as the Sheet Metal Fabrication and Welding Instructor. He also worked for the Northumberland County Juvenile Court Services.
He married Linda Richards who proceeded him in death. He was a member of Mount Zion Welsh Church. He was a member of the Fairview Gun Club and the Rescue Fire Company.
Larry is survived by two sons, Quentin Hummel and Claudia Diaz and Douglas Hummel and his wife, Amanda; four grandsons, Chase Hummel, Collin Hummel, Garrett Hummel, and Seth Hummel; two brothers, Vaughn Hummel and his wife, Sandy, and Wayne Hummel and his wife, Donna; four sisters, Jane Johns, Betty Lou Brightbill, Judy Ann Reiprich and her husband, Mick, and Kim Yoder and her husband, Steve; brother-in-law Frosty Peters and his wife Marianne; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, Larry was proceeded in death by two sisters, Nancy Trochak and Delores Louttit; and a sister-in-law, Jane Kearney and husband Ray.
Larry George Hummel, 78, of 2237 Stetler Drive, Coal Township-Funeral Services will be held Thursday December 16, 2021 at 11 am with Pastor Gerald Lloyd, officiating at Mt. Zion Welsh Church, 150 North Grant Street, Shamokin. Visitation will be held from 10 am until the time of service. Burial will follow the service at Shamokin Cemetery.
