Shamokin-Kenneth Fortune, 78, of 3503 State Rt. 125, passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 in his home, surrounded by his family.
Born in Shamokin on January 29, 1944, he was the son of Harold and May (Bramley) Fortune, who preceded him in death. Kenneth graduated from a school in New York.
On September 21, 1968, he married Linda Hornberger, who survives. Kenneth worked as a Building Superintendent in New York, a coal miner for Bill Heitzman, and at Maurer’s Dairy.
In addition to his wife, Kenneth is survived by a brother-in-law, Richard “Larry” Hornberger of Coal Township; a sister-in-law, Peggy Pahutka of Coal Township; a nephew, Bryan Hornberger and his wife Jessica of Coal Township; as well as many other nephews, nieces, and cousins. In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter Fortune and his wife Mary, and Harry Fortune and his wife Betty; a sister, Elaine Fortune; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard and Audrice “June” (Grimm) Hornberger; and two brother-in-laws, Bryan Hornberger and his wife Sandy, and Dennis Hornberger.

Kenneth Fortune, 78, of 3503 State Rt. 125, Shamokin- Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at 11:00 AM, Pastor Ferd Madara officiating at the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Coal Township.
