Coal Township – Judy A. Long, 74, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, April 28, 2023 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
Born at home in Coal Township on August 25, 1948, Judy was the eldest daughter of the late Edward and Bessie (Jeremiah) Kabonick. She graduated from Shamokin Area High School in 1966.
Prior to her retirement, she worked for Northumberland County Area Agency on Aging and GDK Industries.
Judy attended Christian Missionary Alliance Church and was always willing to help anyone in need. She was loving, caring, and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her daughter and fur-babies.
Judy especially enjoyed family gatherings, crafting, puzzles, and Knoebels. She loved all nature, gardening, and raising various animals.
Judy is survived by a daughter, Melinda Long (Frank) of Coal Township; three sisters, Bessie Mae Weikel (Glenn) of Coal Township, Cindy Kabonick of Harrisburg, and Bonnie Kabonick (Rich) of Harrisburg; brother, Ronald Kabonick (Lisa) of Dornsife; sister-in-law, Bonnie Kabonick of Halifax; her dogs, Spike and Diesel; her cat, Midnight; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward G. Kabonick, Kenneth L. Kabonick, and Rick K. Kabonick.
Judy A. Long, 74, Coal Township - Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at 12:00 PM with Pastor Rudy Sheptock, officiating at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, 46 N 2nd Street, Shamokin. Viewing will be held prior to the service from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM. Burial will follow the service at Northumberland Memorial Park, Sunbury. Arrangements are being handled by Farrow-C.J.
