John Howard Grazier III

Shamokin – John Howard Grazier III, 76, of 424 S. Shamokin Street, passed away at his residence on December 27, 2022.

Born in Long Beach, New York on June 23, 1946 he was the son of the late John Howard and Josephine (Stine) Grazier, Jr. He was an incredible artist; his work was shown in famous galleries including the Zenith Gallery. His work may also be seen the form of 18 mural size pieces at the Greyhound Bus Terminal located at 1100 New York Ave. NW. He has had multiple articles in the Washington Post, written about him, including; “Down and Out, Up and Coming,” “Homeless Artist Gets Commission,” “You Can’t Eat Art,” and “Whatever Happened To...the artist who shunned dealers to sell his own work?”

John is survived by a son, John H. Grazier IV, and his wife, Kimberly Lee of CO; two daughters, Hayley Grazier of CO, and Rebecca Grazier and her husband Victor, of MO; 10 grandchildren; a sister, Kate Grazier; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
