Diane N. (Machusak) Schrader

Coal Township – Diane N. Schrader, 69, of Coal Township, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Shamokin on December 2, 1954 she was the daughter of Eugene and Nancy (Cooper) Machusak. She was a 1972 graduate of Shamokin High School.

On February 17, 1973 in Shamokin, she married Wesley Schrader, who survives. Together they shared 50 years of marriage. Diane was employed at Guarantee Bank & Safe Deposit Company as a teller, then went on to become a secretary with WISL Radio Station, and later worked as Shamokin’s City Tax Collector. She was a member of United Methodist Church in Shamokin.

Diane enjoyed needlepoint, crocheting, knitting, pysanky eggs, and reading. She loved trying new recipes and made the best cookies. In her pastime, Diane had a love for cats, she enjoyed visiting Kitty City, and was a Meow Grandma.

In addition to her husband, Diane is survived by her father, Eugene Machusak; a daughter, Diana Cheunes and her husband, Ralph Cramer of Shamokin Township; a sister, Donna Barry and her husband, Bruce of Danville; six brothers-in-law, Earl Reed, George D. Schrader and his wife, Bonnie of Elysburg, Henry Schrader and his wife, Marie of Coal Township, Lawton Schrader of Coal Township, Ronald Schrader of Coal Township, and Robert Campbell of Shamokin; a sister-in-law, Laura Frye of Halifax; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Diane was preceded in death by her mother, Nancy Machusak; a sister, Linda Reed; father-in-law and mother-in-law, George W. and Virginia (Williams) Schrader; sister-in-law, Rosanne Campbell; and two brothers-in-law, John Robert Schrader and his wife, Becky; and Albert Frye.

FUNERAL NOTICE

Diane N. Schrader, 69, of Coal Township – Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at 11:00 am with Reverend Alicia Julia-Stanley, officating at Farrow-C.J. Lucas Funeral and Cremation Service, 240 W Chestnut Street, Shamokin, PA, Lori Ann Campbell, Supervisor. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 am – 11:00 am. Burial will be held following the service at Northumberland Memorial Park, Sunbury.
