Ann Marie (Jarosky) Alderson

Coal Township – Ann Marie Alderson, 79, formerly of 101 North Ash Street, passed away Monday, March 14, 2022 at Mount Carmel Nursing Home.

Born in Baltimore, Maryland on May 31, 1942 she was the daughter of the late Felix and Lois (Zimmerman) Jarosky.

On June 5, 2015 she married Ralph Alderson, who survives. Ann worked as a secretary at Shamokin Area Community Hospital until she retired. She was a member of the Emmanuel Church in Tharptown.

Ann enjoyed working in her garden, cooking for her family, and coloring. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Ann is survived by two sons, Dale Swank of Coal Township, and Mark Steinhart and his wife, Jennifer of Enola; a daughter, Debra Kashner of Coal Township; three grandsons, Jesse Swank, Chase Steinhart, and Josh Steinhart; five granddaughters, Nicole Snyder and her husband, Eric, Karissa Kashner, Kiley Kashner, Jade Swank, and Gabrielle Steinhart; a great granddaughter, Aleyah Snyder; a brother, Richard Jarosky and his wife, Judy; two sisters, Sharon Raudenbush and her husband, Claude, and Betty Metzger; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her first husband of 41 years, William Steinhart; her beloved dog, Angel; two nieces; and many cousins.
