OBITUARY

Coal Township – Jesus Cano, 85, of 130 S 1st St., passed away Monday, March 02, 2026 at his residence with his family by his side.

Jesus was born in Arequipa, Peru, on September 27, 1940 to the late Ceferino and Apolonia (Chuquicondor) Cano. November 7, 1975, in Lima, Peru, he married Nelida Tirado, together they shared 51 years of marriage.

Jesus attended school in Peru and was of Catholic Faith. Jesus worked at a bridal shop as an Assistant Manager.

In addition to his wife, Jesus is survived by a daughter, Diana Cano of Coal Township; a son, Danny Cano and his wife, Claudia of Clarks Summit; two grandsons, Alejandro Cano and Jesus Cano; three granddaughters, Angelica Swisher, Alana Swisher, and Anabella Cano; a sister, Juana Cano Barrios; three brothers-in-law, Atilio Tirado and his wife, Josefino, Jorge Tirado and his wife, Julia, and Freddy Tirado and his wife, Pilar; three sisters-in-law, Maria Lermo and her husband, Andres, Petronila Vasquez and her husband Eduardo, and Lilia Rivera and her husband, Luis; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, Jesus is preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Vitaliano Barrios.

FUNERAL NOTICE

Jesus Cano, 85, of Coal Township – Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 12:00pm, with Father Francis J. Tamburro officiating, at Farrow-Campbell Funeral & Cremation Service, Inc., 240 W Chestnut Street, Shamokin, PA, Lori Ann Campbell, Supervisor.
