James "Jim" A. Swank

Elysburg - James “Jim” A. Swank, 88, of Elysburg, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born at his home in Elysburg on June 29 1938 to the late Alvin and Beatrice (Bastress) Swank. He graduated from Ralpho Township High School in 1956. In 1975 in St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Elysburg, he married, Darlene Schleig, who survives. He was the owner of Swank & Son Pump Company, Elysburg.

He was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Elysburg. He was a member of the Masons –

Elysburg, Elks – Jersey Shore, Larry’s Creek Fish and Game, Packhorse Hunting Club, Valley Gun Country Club (VGCC), and Ralpho Fish & Game.

Jim’s life was dedicated to family and hard work. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, trap shooter, and enjoyed fishing. He traveled with his wife in their motorhome to many National Parks in the west, Florida, Canada, and Mexico.

He was a 3rd generation owner of Swank & Son Pump Company, after retiring, his son, Kevin, was the 4th generation to take over.

In addition to his wife, James is survived by a son, Kevin Swank and his wife, Caryn; a daughter, Kim Mount and her husband, Van; two grandsons, Dylan Swank and his wife, Kimberly, and Connor Swank and his wife, Kenzie; two granddaughters, Zoe Murray and her husband, James, and Samantha Mount; a great grandson, Silas Murray; two great granddaughters, Cecilia, and Delilah; a brother, David Swank and his wife Judy; and several nieces, and a nephew. In addition to his parents, James preceded in death by his beloved dogs.
