Dorothy Kay Sassani

Dorothy Kay (Malloy) Sassani, 87, of Vineland, NJ, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2025.

Born on August 7, 1937, in Shamokin, Pennsylvania, Dorothy was the oldest daughter of the late Frank and Naomi Malloy, and the cherished sister of Norma Louise Albert (Robert), Darlene Lichty (James), and Maxine Malloy.

In 1957, Dorothy married the love of her life, Russell Thomas Sassani, and together they built a beautiful life rooted in love, faith, and family. They moved to Vineland in 1964, where they raised their three sons and shared 60 years of marriage before Russell's passing.

Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She worked at ShopRite of Landis Avenue in Vineland for 36 years, where she was known for her warmth, work ethic, and the kindness she extended to everyone she met.

Her life was centered on her family and her faith. She was a longtime and active member of First Presbyterian Church of Vineland, where she found community, comfort, and strength. Dorothy's love for her family was boundless, and her joyful, nurturing spirit touched all who knew her.

Dorothy is survived by her three sons and their spouses: Paul and Melanie Sassani, Dr. Russell Sassani, and Jeffrey and Theresa Sassani; four grandsons: Andrew Sassani, Matthew Sassani, Steven and Kim Eilenberg, and David Eilenberg; four granddaughters and their husbands: Tara and AJ Federico, Jessica and Ryan Grusemeyer, Juliann and Dillan Berghof, and Lauren Sassani; as well as ten great-grandchildren who brought her endless pride and joy. She is also survived by her loving sisters, along with many beloved nieces and nephews.

Dorothy will be remembered for her generous heart, joyful spirit, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched and the deep love she poured into her family.

A funeral home visitation will be held on Thursday, June 19th from 6pm to 7pm at Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland, NJ. There will be a viewing at Farrow-Campbell Funeral & Cremation Service 240 W Chestnut St., Shamokin, PA from 9:30 am - 11:00 am on Saturday June 21st. Committal service will follow at Northumberland Cemetery in Sunbury, PA.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Dorothy's memory to First Presbyterian Church of Vineland, honoring her deep faith and longtime church home.
