Shamokin – Daniel L. Long, 77, of 237 S Franklin Street, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2024 at Mount Carmel Senior Living Community.
Born in Trevorton on December 3, 1946 to the late Grant and Anna (Foulds) Long. He served in the United States Army from 1966 – 1970.
On March 5, 1988 at St. Johns United Church of Christ, he married LeeAnn Fisher, who survives. He worked as a truck driver for Dietricks Waste Management. After retirement, Daniel spent his summers working at Knoebels Grove Amusement Park, Elysburg. Daniel was a member of Salem United Church of Christ. He was a life member of Forrest Hills Fire Company.
In his pastime Daniel loved to be outdoors; fishing and hunting were his favorite hobbies. Daniel was a wonderful loving husband and father; his grandchildren were the light of his life.
In addition to his wife, Daniel is survived by a son, Dan Fisher of Shamokin; a daughter, Marissa Fisher of Shamokin; a non-biological daughter, Taylor Steinhart of Atlas; three grandsons, Dakota Fisher, Alexander Fisher, and Mason Fisher; four brothers, Dennis Long and his companion, Connie of Shamokin, Donald Long and his companion, Carol of Shamokin, Gary Long of Shamokin, and Roger Long and his wife, Sue of Overlook; five sisters, Betty Kimmel and her husband, Randy of West Cameron, Bonnie Long of Shamokin, Joyce Cress and her husband, Jim of Shamokin, Diane Detrich, and Connie Long and her husband, Floyd of Sunbury; a sister-in-law, Brenda Ewan and her husband Robert of York Haven; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Daniel was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Isaak and Shirley (Koproskie) Fisher; two brothers, Rick Long, and Randy Long; three sisters-in-law, Shirley “Cookie” Mathew, Deb Fisher, and Debbie Long.

Daniel L. Long, 77, of 237 S Franklin Street, Shamokin – Celebration of life will be held Friday, June 7, 2024 at 11:00 am, with Pastor Jean Eckrod, officiating at Farrow-Campbell Funeral & Cremation Service, 240 W Chestnut Street, Shamokin, Lori Ann Campbell, Supervisor.
