Charles Makowski

Ranshaw – Charles Makowski, 80, passed away Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Mt. Carmel Nursing Home.

Born in Danville on April 23, 1941 he was the son of the late Charles and Helen (Bartko) Makowski. He

resided in Centralia and then Kulpmont. He went to Mount Carmel High School. He worked at Kerris &

Helfrick as a Heavy Equipment Operator.

On August 25, 1963 in Ranshaw he married Frances Yurkweicz, who preceded him in death. He was a

member of St. Anthonys Church, now Mother Cabrini Church.

Charles is survived by a daughter, Deborah Murat and her husband, J.P. of NJ; a granddaughter, Danielle

Murat; two brothers, Richard Makowski and his wife, Claudia of OH, and Gary Makowski and his wife,

Pat of Shamokin; a sister, Gina Meehan and her husband, John of VA; a sister-in-law, Carmella Makowski

of Mount Carmel; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his wife and parents, Charles was

preceded in death by a brother, Michael Makowski.
