Coal Township – Carole Oxenrider, 84, of 2050 Trevorton Rd, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2026 at Mountain View Manor, Coal Township.
Born in Coatesville on May 17, 1941, to the late Benjamin and Naomi (Howett) Brantigan. She attended school at Pegeau Valley. She worked at Mountain View Manor and prior to that, she worked as a waitress.
Carole was a frequent member of the Independence Fire Company where she would meet with friends for lunch and to ‘Sign the Book’. She was also an avid fan of the Philadelphia Phillies. What brought her the most joy was spending time with her grandchildren, taking them for train rides, playgrounds, swimming, and watching them grow.
Carole is survived by a daughter, Kathy Latsha and her husband, Joseph of Shamokin; grandson, Stephen Latsha; and a sister, Patricia Brantigan Lawler of Parkesburg. In addition to her parents, Carole was preceded in death by a grandson, Patrick Latsha; and a companion, Lawrence Quinn.
