Shamokin – Betty Lou Schleig, 86, of 3967 Upper Road, passed away July 8, 2025 at her residence, with her loving family by her side.
Born at home in Pitman on September 17, 1938, to the late Charles H. and Mary (Herb) Schultz. On June 19, 1993 in Shamokin, she married Randall Schleig, together they shared 32 years of marriage.
Betty attended high school at Valley View. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Gowen City.
She worked as a seamstress in the local factories.
In addition to her husband, Betty is survived by a son, Randall Kahler of Milton; two daughters, April Kahler of Willow Grove and Tina Suder of Willow Grove; two grandsons, Matthew Emrich and Jacob Emrich; three granddaughters, Angela Clark and her husband Arthur Rodriguez, Rachael Martin,
and Faith Lennier and her husband Derek; six great grandchildren and a sister, Norma Fetterolf. In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by three brothers, Charles “Sam” Schultz and his wife Orpha, Palmer Schultz and his wife Gladys and Kermit Schultz; four sisters, Gertrude Deitz and her husband Ray, Ruby Kessler and her husband John, Irene Bernas and her husband Henry and Geraldine Heim and a brother-in-law, William Fetterolf.

Betty Lou Schleig, 86, of Shamokin – Celebration of life will be held Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at 11:00 AM with Reverend Kathleen Kinney, officiating, at Farrow-Campbell Funeral & Cremation Service, Inc., 240 W Chestnut Street, Shamokin, Lori Ann Campbell, Supervisor.
