Shamokin – William “Bill” Jeremiah, 94, of 132 Birch Street, died, Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Mount Carmel Senior Living Community.
Born in Shamokin on September 30, 1924, he was the son of the late George and Verna (Osminski) Jeremiah.
Bill was employed in the shipping department of the Arrow Shirt Company.
He was married in Trinity Evangelical Church, Shamokin to the late Eleanor Fay Jones, who preceded him in death on February 21, 1996.
He was a 1942 graduate of Shamokin High School and attended Bloomsburg University.
He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church and served with the US Army.
Bill’s first love was Jesus; he loved his church and singing in the choir with his daughter. He loved his family, he never missed a Shamokin Area sporting event to cheer for his boys.
Survivors include a daughter, Susan Shoop and her husband Robert of Paxinos; two sons, Keith Jeremiah and his wife Kathy of Coal Township and Brian Jeremiah and his companion, Dawn of Shamokin; four granddaughters, Jessica Amato of Shamokin, Morgan Rosenberger and her husband Jamie of Coal Township, Amanda Jeremiah of Bloomsburg and Chelsey Pallash and her husband Mark of Coal Township; five grandsons, Rob Shoop and his wife Mallary of Catawissa, Keith Jeremiah of MD, Daniel Shoop and his wife Santina of GA, David Shoop of Lancaster and William Shoop of Pittsburgh; four great granddaughters, Kate Amato, Alaina, Emmi and Adalynn Shoop and four great grandsons, Owen Amato, Colton Rosenberger, Nolan Shoop and Hudson Minnich and a cousin, Bob Geise of Northumberland. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by an infant son, William David Jeremiah.

William “Bill” Jeremiah, 94, of 132 Birch Street, Shamokin – Funeral Services will be held Thursday, January 17, 2019 at 11:00 am in Farrow-C.J. Lucas Funeral Home, 240 West Chestnut Street, Shamokin, with Reverend Brian Betzworth, officiating. Viewing will be held Thursday morning from 9:00 am until time of service in Farrow-C.J. Lucas Funeral Home, 240 West Chestnut Street, Shamokin, Lori Ann Campbell, Supervisor. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Coal Township.
