Shirley Pavelko Obituary

Tharptown - Mrs. Shirley B (Schrader) Pavelko, 94, of 818 Center Street, passed away Sunday, December 2, 2018 at Mountain View in Coal Township.       

Born in Shamokin on Match 3, 1924, she was the daughter of the late George Wesley and Elsie Wilson Schrader.  Mrs. Pavelko graduated from Shamokin High School in 1942.

On July 16, 1943 in Hinesville, Georgia, she was united in marriage to the late Frank A Pavelko.

She was a waitress in Georgia before she worked as a zipper setter for Shroyer’s Dress for over 40 years. She was a kind and generous woman who would help anyone. She helped neighbors get to appointments and drive to get groceries. She enjoyed bowling and playing pinochle every week. But most of all she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church on Sunbury Street in Shamokin.

Shirley is survived by three sons, Frank R and his wife Brabara, Brandon FL., Robert J and wife Jane, Arlington, TX; William D and wife Sheila; a daughter Margaret (Peggy) Smith Coal Township; a sister, Jean Kemp, Berwick; four brother-in-laws Andrew Pavelko, George Pavelko, Tom Pavelko, and Joseph Shepard; two sister-in-laws Catherine Tomcavage and Josephine Cobin. Surviving Grandchildren; Debbie and husband Wayne of Wlodawsky, Samanth and Michael, Michelle and her husband Rober Long, Mitchell, Kirsten and Patrick, Robert and his wife Carol and Hana, Jeffrey and his wife Jenifer Haley and Justin, Jill Mayer and her husband Joel Avery, Sydney and Graham, Stephanie and husband Curt Boyer, Megan, Mackenna, Evelyn and Clara, Valerie Jean, Joshua, and Chevy, William D Smith Sr. and his wife Jill, William D Jr., Aaliyah, Layla, and Pierce David, Ashley, Jade, Addison and Camden Jade, Brooke, Crystyn, Hope, and Addalynn, Amy, Alyssa, Maddison, Tristen, Taylor and Kaine, Wendy and her husband Tom Annis, John William Delorso, Cameron, Cooper, and Noah Ryan. Along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Frank A; three sisters, Gladys F Kersetetter, Leotta W Shroyer, Sandra L Shepard; one brother George “Wes” Schrader and his wife Virginia. Six bother-in-laws, John and wife Veronica, Edward Pavelko, Mike Pavelko, Lawton Shroyer, Al Tomcavage and Mike Cobin, and a sister-in-law Vickey Miller

 

FUNERAL NOTICE

Shirley B. Pavelko, 94, of 818 Center Street, Tharptown – Funeral Service will be held Friday, December 7, 2018 at 11:00 am in the Farrow-C.J. Lucas Funeral and Cremation Service, 240 West Chestnut Street, Shamokin, Lori Ann Campbell, Supervisor with Reverend Zachary Hopple, Officiating. Burial will be held in Northumberland Memorial Park. Viewing will be held Friday morning from 9:00 – 11:00 am in the Farrow-C.J. Lucas Funeral and Cremation Service. Lori Ann Campbell, Supervisor.
