P. Hooper Obituary

COAL TOWNSHIP - P. Richard Hooper, 72, of 101 N. Ash St., passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at Select Specialty Care Unit, Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

He was born in Coal Township, Nov. 18, 1946, a son of Paul J. Hooper and the late Margaret (Ferster) Hooper. He graduated from Coal Township High School in 1964.

Richard was a loyal fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and the Philadelphia Eagles. He enjoyed reading, prior to vision problems.

Richard is survived by his father, Paul J. Hooper, of Coal Township; a sister, Dianne Lenig Mushinski and her husband, Joe, of Coal Township; two nieces, Margaret Wagner and Nick Rocco, of Philadelphia, and Trisha Sponenberg and her husband Mike, of Coal Township; two great nephews, Jordan Wagner and his wife, Michelle, of Reading, and Evan Jamison, of Coal Township; a great-niece, Megan Wagner, of Lansford; a great-great-nephew, Kieran Jamison, of Coal Township; and Aunt Patsy Strausser. Along with his mother, Margaret, he was preceded in death by his grandparents and aunts and uncle.


FUNERAL NOTICE

HOOPER - P. Richard Hooper, 72, of 101 N. Ash St., Coal Township. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, state Route 225, Hunter's Station, between Trevorton and Dornsife, with the Rev. Glen Keidel Jr., officiating. Burial will be held following the service in Emmanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery, Hunter's Station. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Arrangements are being cared for by Farrow-C.J. Lucas Funeral and Cremation Service, 240 W. Chestnut St., Shamokin, Lori Ann Campbell, supervisor. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Association for the Blind, c/o Central Susquehanna Sight Services, 348 Market St., Sunbury 17801 or the Shamokin Coal Township Public Library, 210 E.
